3 SUMMER CHECKUP IDEAS

Seems like I can never say enough about protecting the exterior of your home especially with the harsh humid and summer climate we experience in our area. It's a good idea to give your exterior a thorough check-up every summer. To start, I'm listing a quick checklist that will help keep your home looking great all year long.

1. Seal Cracks

Weather changes can cause materials to expand and contract sometimes leaving cracks or spaces around windows, doors, plumbing, vents and other surfaces where two areas join (such as a wall and molding). These areas can usually be managed with caulking or weatherstripping. In extreme gaps expandable foam may be necessary.

2. Apply Fresh Paint

Weather extremes can accelerate the aging of paint and exterior protectants on your fence, shutters and doors causing it to fade, chip or crack. To refresh these areas apply a fresh coat of new paint. Not only will you protect these areas but you'll also brighten up homes' overall appearance.

3. Pressure Wash the Outside

Stormy weather can leave a layer of dirt and grime on the surface of your home. To revive it's appearance, give your home a good Pressure Washing. This removes mold, mildew and other residues, while also enhancing your homes' curb appeal.

That's my tips for today. Hope you're having a good week as the weekend nears.
