BROKEN FLOOR TILE

Today we'll talk about broken Ceramic type floor tiles. Ceramic and like products have been very popular in recent years. It's a durable product but still susceptible to damage if heavy objects are dropped on it.

The degree of removal difficulty will depend on the type of adhesive it's attached to. Floor tiles are generally set in either a glue-type adhesive or a cement-based product. Regardless the tile has to removed along with grout from outer edges. (Grout must be removed with care or surrounding tiles could be damaged.) Debris and any uneven surfacing beneath the tile has to be removed. After that a new tile with desired adherent can be put in place, leveled and finished with color matching grout.

Hopefully you'll still have extra tiles from the original floor. If not you'll have to shop and try to find a close match. Replacing new tile can be a little tricky for the Do-it-Yourself person but it can be done.

TGIF...(Thank God It's Friday). Have a great weekend!
